Yasser Salem, MD, is a board-certified physician who specializes in cardiology and all aspects of cardiac care, including trauma and transplant procedures. At the Quantum Healthcare in Crivitz, Wisconsin, Dr. Salem and his staff treat many different health conditions associated with the heart. They include:

Dr. Salem uses preventive cardiology, stress testing, and echocardiograms to help his patients maintain good heart health.

Dr. Salem graduated from The University of Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in 1994. After leaving Egypt, he moved to the United States and completed both his residency in internal medicine and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. His professional expertise includes both cardiac trauma care and heart transplants. He has been in practice for over 23 years and continues to pursue his education in cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Salem is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in several states throughout the Midwest.

Amel Elshaier, DNP

Nurse Practitioner

Amel Elshaier, DNP, is an experienced nurse practitioner at Quantum Healthcare and Heart Failure Survival Center of America. She provides primary care and urgent care to families in North East Wisconsin. Amel also works closely with Dr. Yasser Salem providing premier Cardiology care to their local community.

Amel began her medical career at Alexandria University in Egypt with a master’s degree in internal medicine practice, which is the equivalent of a medical degree in the United States. After coming to the United States, she earned her doctorate in biochemistry from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Subsequently, she became an instructor in biochemistry at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Marinette. Amel furthered her education and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

While obtaining her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Amel worked in a multitude of specialties, including primary care, family medicine, oncology, and cardiology. She also has special certifications in oncology, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
